Jordan and Ashley came all the way from Washington DC to tie the knot at St. John’s Cathedral on Spokane’s south hill. Ashley is a Spokane native who actually knows several of my other clients which made photographing their wedding a real treat.
I have to give a massive shout out to Chris Thompson Photography for 2nd shooting this great wedding with me. Thank you again, you are awesome! Catholic weddings are a favorite of mine because I really appreciate good architecture and old churches have plenty to spare. It makes it worth dealing with very low lighting and other challenging photography conditions when I get to present my clients with bright happy photos from a venue that they were already aware was dark! Indoor photos pose a special set of challenges to the professional photographer because you need to be able to stop motion, keep photos sharp and still properly expose without driving the guests crazy with extensive flash set ups. After the ceremony at St. John’s we headed downtown to The Davenport Hotel for another challenging and super rewarding location – The Marie Antoinette Ballroom. The food was amazing, the mini pies delightful and the DJ really rocked the house. If all of my weddings could be this fun I could die happy!
