Rustic Woodsy Engagement – Fall Creek, Oregon

Spring has finally come to the Willamette Valley! Recently I had the opportunity to go to Bedrock Campground on Fall Creek to do an engagement session for Alison and Corey. They chose this rustic photo location to go along with their intimate outdoor wedding that is coming up this July at Shotgun Creek State Park. I can’t wait to see what little details the wedding planner, Imagine Weddings and Events has up their sleeve. That coupled with the super amazing baked goods made by the bride herself is a recipe that couldn’t keep me away! Stay tuned!

Hat Rock – Eastern Oregon Engagement

Being a destination photographer from Oregon doesn’t always mean I get to drink Mai Tai’s on sandy beaches. Sometimes a destination can be as simple as a stop off near Hermiston, Oregon for family/engagement photos. Jen and Reiner were actually married last year and never had a chance to have photos done before they tied the knot. They found out that they are expecting and wanted to get some photos done of their furry family before the new little one arrives. Jen, Reiner and their dogs piled into the truck and drove from Joseph, OR to Hat Rock State Park to meet up for a windy December session. We had a fantastic time wandering around the park doing some beautiful couples photos. I am so glad they had me stop on my way to the Tricities for photos. I can’t wait to meet their newest addition!

Mount Pisgah Engagement Session

Mount Pisgah is a beautiful photo location year round. I knew exactly where I wanted to go when Danielle and Keaton requested somewhere outdoors and ‘woodsy’ for their engagement photos. Grass meadows, mossy oaks and lots of trails along meandering creeks make Pisgah Arboretum one of the best places in Eugene for photography. The addition of two beautiful people who where great at posing for photos made my day!  I can’t wait to work with them again for their summer wedding in Spokane! Hendricks Park Engagement Session with Donia & Mike

Hendricks Park is one of the best places to do engagement photos in Eugene, so when Donia came to me to plan her engagement session we easily agreed to meet up in the Rhododendron Gardens. There’s a nice romantic feeling walking down the neatly manicured paths that makes you feel like you have the place to yourself – and we pretty much did on a weekday evening! We took our time walking and talking and in the process got some amazing photos that really captured her & Mike’s feelings toward each other. Being able to have time to really get to know who you’re working with makes everything run smoothly and ensures you get the photos that really show emotion. This is why I make every effort to get to know my clients and I encourage them to get to know me. This is especially important of engagement sessions because when your wedding rolls around you already know what it is like to work with me. We’ve developed a rapport and it’s not like you’re starting at square one with a strange photographer on what is already a stressful day. I am so happy to have had a chance to get Donia and Mike in front of my camera before their wedding this March – It’s going to make the post-reception bridal photos a breeze!

Tina and Cory’s Fly Fishing Engagement – St. Maries, ID

Last weekend I had the opportunity to go to St. Maries, ID to do a fly fishing themed engagement session along the St. Joe River. While I am generally a Eugene, Oregon photographer these days I eagerly jumped at the chance! Tina and Cory are a really fun couple who love their outdoor adventures. Along with Diesel their gigantic Great Dane “puppy” we hopped in our cars and set out right around sunset for our little adventure. Themed engagement sessions are becoming more and more popular because you are able to say to the world, “This is me!”  and this was no exception. Hiking through the weeds, getting a little muddy and practicing their casting in the St. Joe River was all on the agenda.  I had so much fun that we actually extended the session and stayed and shot some extra frames. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for their wedding at Tina’s parent’s house in Spokane this October. I’m sure it is going to be fantastic!

Florence, Oregon – Beach Engagement Photos

April was a fantastic month! I finally got to meet Summer and Adam who booked me through their wedding planner Krysta Albert of Imagine! Weddings and Events. They are from Peoria, IL and knew that they wanted photos that you can’t get in Illinois so we headed out to Heceta Beach for some Oregon coast engagement photos. We had a great time playing in the sand on what was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. They are such a fun down to earth couple, I am so excited for their autumn wedding at The Country Inn in Eugene this October!

Over the years as a photographer in Spokane and Eugene I’ve gotten to meet some really fantastic people. I love that I get to take a peek into their lives. Senior portraits, engagements, weddings, family photos. I do it all and I love the friends that I have made along the way. This is why I’ve decided to make a few new friends by running a drawing for a free engagement session. If your name is drawn you will receive a one hour session at an agreed upon location.

It really is that simple! On the morning of May 9th, 2012 I will randomly draw a name and announce the winning couple.
